How to read a Supplement Facts label

The label helps you identify what the manufacturer says is in a serving. It does not, by itself, establish that the product is effective.

Serving size

Compare research doses and product amounts on the same serving basis.

Ingredient amount

An ingredient name without a meaningful amount makes evidence comparison difficult.

Proprietary blends

A blend may list a total amount while withholding individual quantities. That limits dose-level evaluation.

Other ingredients and warnings

Check excipients, allergens and directions as well as headline ingredients.
